Stellarium ScreenshotStellarium is a free, open-source computer application that runs on every common kind of operating system. It lets you zoom in on particular astronomical bodies (600,000 stars by default, according to the website).

It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope. It is being used in planetarium projectors. Just set your coordinates and go. Here’s the project’s page at SourceForge.
